SAN ANTONIO - Coming in on a three-game winning streak and tied for first place, the Missions also had a chance to clinch the series victory against Tulsa. The Drillers had other plans. Pitching prospect Bobby Miller gave the Missions hitters issues early on and the Tulsa offense scored five runs in the fifth inning. Despite a late comeback attempt from the Missions, Tulsa came out victorious Friday night with an 8-4 final score.

Lake Bachar was celebrating his birthday and made the start for the Missions. He allowed the lead-off man, James Outman, to reach base via walk. Outman was later thrown out trying to steal second base. In the second inning, Bachar allowed a double to Andy Pages. With one out in the inning, Pages was left stranded after Bachar retired the final two batters.

The Tulsa offense gained an early lead off Bachar in the top of the third inning. With one out in the inning, Leonel Valera drew a walk. The next batter, Outman, hit a line drive two-run homer over the right field wall. His 13th long ball of the season made it a 2-0 lead.

Bobby Miller was the starting pitcher for the Tulsa Drillers. The 36th overall Major League prospect did not allow his first baserunner until the third inning when Chandler Seagle hit a single.

The Drillers offense significantly improved their lead by scoring five runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Tulsa batted around and the inning started off with three straight singles from Leonel Valera, Chris Betts, and Outman. The Outman base hit plated Valera. Jacob Amaya hit a single to score Betts. Devin Mann hit a double to score Outman. Ryan Ward grounded out which scored Amaya. Nolan Watson replaced Henry Henry on the mound after he hit Andy Pages with a pitch. Carson Taylor drove in the final run of the inning after hitting a single to center field. Tulsa improved their lead to 7-0.

San Antonio began their comeback attempt in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Miller still on the mound, the Missions scored twice on four hits. Thomas Milone started off the inning with a double and a wild pitch advanced him to third base. Korry Howell drove in Milone with a double to right field. Howell came around to score after Seagle drove him in with a single to center field. The Missions trailed 7-2.

Tulsa added their eighth run of the game in the top of the eighth inning. Facing off against Kevin Kopps, he allowed a single to Valera. Valera advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Valera came around to score after Amaya hit a ground out. The Drillers improved their lead to 8-2.

The Missions added two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Guillermo Zuniga, Hollis and Leyba hit back-to-back singles. Rodriguez grounded out and scored Hollis on the play. Leyba came around to score on a single from Milone. The Missions trailed 8-4.
