The Sea Dogs continue their four-game series with the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) on Tuesday night at Arm & Hammer Park...Portland sends top pitching prospect Henry Owens to the mound.

NEWS AND NOTES

THAT WAS NUMBER ONE : Portland dropped their first game of the roadtrip on Monday night, and continues their four-game series at Trenton on Tuesday at Arm & Hammer Park...The Sea Dogs finished June 16-10, hitting .277 (233-for-841) with a 3.81 ERA (94 ER/220.0 IP)...LHP Henry Owens' career 2.13 ERA with Portland is the best in team history, surpassing Jon Lester's 2.57 in his previous outing...Owens leads the league in ERA (2.25), strikeouts (95), CG (3), SHO (2), WHIP (1.04) AVG (.181) and SO-PER 9 IP (9.3).

THUNDERSTRUCK TWICE : Trenton scored both runs with two outs on RBI singles from Peter O'Brien and Casey Stevenson, taking the series opener 2-0 on Monday night...LHP Eric Wooten (3-3) tossed 6.1 innings on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts to notch the win...RHP Luis Diaz (2-1) suffered the tough luck loss, giving up both runs on five hits over 6 IP...Portland finished 1-for-10 with runners-in-scoring position, receiving two of five hits from C Blake Swihart...LHP Tyler Webb worked a perfect ninth to earn his sixth save of the year...RHP Noe Ramirez pitched two perfect frames for Portland.
