Sea Dawgs take a bite out of Augusta

Augusta, GA - On the road in Augusta, GA, Wilmington outscored Augusta 40-22 in the fourth as they move into a first place tie with Rochester in the PBL's Eastern Division with a 104-87 victory over the Groove.

The Groove started off quick going on a 13-4 run to start the contest, but then the Sea Dawgs went on a run of their own to end the first quarter down 19-17.

Wilmington would claw their way back to take a three point lead at the break, but then would go down one going into the fourth quarter. 26 seconds into the fourth, Brian Leggett hit a ten footer on the right side which would give the Sea Dawgs for good. Wilmington ended up outscoring Augusta 40-22 in the final frame to come out on top by 17.

For the Sea Dawgs, who move to 10-4, Alex Harper had a double double with a game high 29 points and ten boards. Cedric McGinnis added 19 while Jermaine Williams added 16.

For Augusta, Demitrius Howard had a team high 22 points while Kedrick Johnson added nine boards.

Up next for Wilmington is a Sunday road contest against struggling Buffalo. For the Groove, they hit the road to take on Buffalo on Saturday night.

Notes: With his 29 points, Alex Harper takes over sixth place in the PBL scoring race at 20.2 points a game. The Sea Dawgs bench outscored Augusta's 52-18. The Sea Dawgs shot 47.0 percent to just 38.8 for Augusta.
