Sea Dawgs Fall Victim to the RazorSharks

Rochester, NY- Sammy Monroe led five Rochester Razorsharks in double figures with 19, and Rochester shot 52 percent from the field as they cruise to a 114-95 victory over Wilmington.

Wilmington, who arrived into Rochester early Sunday morning from Buffalo, started strong ripping off a 13-2 run to start. Cedric McGinnis hit a three to open the scoring and then hit another one later in the run. McGinnis would hit for 14 points in the quarter which included three three pointers. Wilmington held a four point lead after one.

Rochester, who won 48 straight home games before Vermont broke the streak, came back in the second. Keith Friel, one of the PBL's leading three point shooters, hit for all 11 of his first half points in the second quarter. Friel hit three of four from beyond the arc. In the quarter Rochester outscored Wilmington 24-17 in the quarter and went to the locker room up three.

In the third, Rochester started off quick with a 6-0 run on a Jerice Crouch three ball and after getting fouled by Kadri Richard on a straight away three, Keith Friel hit all three free throws and the Razorsharks had an eight point lead. The teams would go back and forth for the remainder of the quarter, and Rochester lead by six after three.

In the fourth, the Razorsharks put it away early in the quarter going on a 12-0 run. Derik Hollyfield hit five straight points at the end of the run with a three ball and a 14 foot jumper from the left baseline to make it a 14 point game. Wilmington tried to get back into the contest, but the Rochester defense was too tight holding Cedric McGinnis to only 11 points from the first quarter on.

Notes: Wilmington was lead by Cedric McGinnis with 27 points. The Sea Dawgs hit 22-23 from the free throw line. Both teams are now 5-3 on the season.
