July 10, 2007 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Wilmington Sea Dawgs News Release
Wilmington, NC - Although the Sea Dawg's sophomore season won't start until January, the team still has basketball on its mind.
By popular demand, the Sea Dawgs are proud to announce the creation of two adult recreational basketball leagues which will play an eight-game schedule starting the week of August 20th. One league will play at the Surf City Community Center on Mondays and Wednesdays. Another league will play Carolina Beach Recreation Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games will be at either 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. The top teams from each league will play each other in a post season tournament to be scheduled at a later date.
The league will be managed and staffed by Sea Dawg coaches, players and front office personnel.
Along with affordable registration fees ($50 or less per player), the Wilmington Sea Dawgs will be providing complimentary game tickets and t-shirts to league participants. Additional incentives are being offered to team captains and players who are existing members of either of the facilities' recreation centers.
Sea Dawgs Co-Owner Peter Gratale will be keeping a close eye on the top talent in the leagues. "You never know, a future Sea Dawg player might be discovered," says Gratale.
