Sea Bears Announce 12-Man Roster for Historic Home Opener
May 26, 2023 - Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL)
Winnipeg Sea Bears News Release
The Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced their 12-man roster for the team's historic home opener at Canada Life Centre on Saturday.
The 12 athletes were selected from the 16 who were invited to attend Sea Bears' training camp. Among them are three Winnipeggers, who appreciate a special significance as homegrown talents competing on a pro team in their hometown.
Chad Posthumus, Simon Hildebrandt and Justus Alleyn will all wear the bear as active players Saturday night. The team is allowed 10 active players and will carry two inactive players.
As per CEBL policy, the Winnipeg Sea Bears will submit their roster to the league each Monday, meaning changes will take place on that day for each week's games. The team is permitted eight transactions throughout the season, one of which will be used for Shane Osayande when he joins the team from Qatar. Moving players between the active and inactive rosters do not qualify as transactions.
