MATCH PREVIEW:

A new era begins for SD Loyal. Nate Miller is now the Head Coach as the club heads into its fourth season in the USL Championship. The former associate Head Coach takes the reins with a core of 15 players returning from last year's roster that finished second in the Western Conference and clinched a playoff berth for the second-consecutive season. Finishing with a 18W-10L-6D record and 60 points in 2022, SD Loyal also reinforced its lines by adding midfielders Joe Corona, Blake Bodily and forwards Elliot Collier and Adrien Perez.

Detroit City FC is coming into its second season in the league. It reached the postseason in its inaugural campaign in 2022 as the no. 7 and final seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The club finished with 54 points and a 14W-8L-12D record. Detroit is looking to get into the postseason again as it added goalkeeper Ryan Shellow, forward Ben Morris, defender Jalen Robinson and midfielders Tommy McCabe, Adrian Billhardt and Richard Ballard this offseason. This the first ever meeting between the two clubs.
