Loudoun United FC Acquire Jeremy Garay and Gaoussou Samaké on Season-Long Loan

Leesburg, VA. - Loudoun United FCannounced today the club has acquired Jeremy Garay and Gaoussou Samaké on a season-long loan from D.C. United.

"Jeremy Garay is an extremely gifted deep playmaker," Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach, said. "He has a great eye for space and knows how to exploit the opposition. His defending and tracking has improved over the off season. We can't wait to see what 2023 brings for him as he will be a key role for us this season."

Major League Soccer club D.C. United signed the Academy product as the 16th Homegrown signing in their club's history.

In 2019, Garay signed an Academy Contract with Loudoun United FC. The 19-year-old made his professional debut on July 7, 2019, in a draw against St. Louis FC. The El Salvadorian has played 62 matches for Loudoun United between 2019-2022, recording one goal and five assists.

Born in Woodbridge, Va., Garay joined the D.C. United Academy in 2017 and has represented the Black-and-Red for various age groups including the U-15s, U-16s, and U-18s. Garay is a product of the Arlington Soccer Association, a Pathway to Pro affiliate with the D.C. United academy.

The Red-and-White welcome back Gaoussou Samaké after spending preseason with D.C. United at the Coachella Valley Invitational.

"Samaké is an extremely talented left back who has a great range of running and final service," Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach, said. "He has a great mentality and is excited to join us on our 2023 journey."

D.C. United acquired defender Samaké from ASEC Mimosas in the Ivory Coast on a two-year contract through 2023 with options in 2024 and 2025.

Samaké has appeared in 29 matches for Loudoun United, recording one goal and two assists. Prior to moving stateside, the Ivorian made 52 appearances for ASEC Mimosas.
