
Scripps Ranch Senior Nabs Ironman Honors

SAN DIEGO - Tony Pariani's complete two-way performance against Kearny last Friday propelled the Falcons to a 40-14 victory and earned the senior WR/FS sandiegoriptide.com High School Ironman of the Week for November 1-2.
Pariani grabbed touchdown passes of 55, 22 and 38 yards all in the first half and finished with four grabs for 128 yards. Defensively, he tallied six tackles, a pass breakup and an interception.
Pariani, who maintains a 3.33 GPA, will be honored prior to the Riptide's 2003 home opener with all the weekly award winners and the Ironman of the Year. The entire Falcons varsity football team will receive tickets to that game to support their teammate. Riptide Head Coach Cree Morris will visit the Falcons on Thursday prior to their game against Morse to present him a certificate and talk with the team.
Additional tickets to that game will be available at discounted rates for family members, friends and classmates.
To get to Scripps Ranch High to watch Pariani and the Falcons take on Morse Thursday night (kickoff is 7pm) take I-15 to Mira Mesa Blvd., east; right at Scripps Ranch Blvd., right at Scripps Lake Dr.; left at Treena.
To nominate a player for the "Ironman of the Week", please send in the player's name, high school, statistics and why that player should be nominated for that week's game.
Also, please include your name, address and phone number. You can fax it to 858.455.8379 (Attention Ironman) or e-mail us at ironman@sandiegoriptide.com. Nominations can come from players, coaches, family members, booster club members or fans. Everything will be verified before voting takes place.
At the end of the high school season a player will be selected as the "sandiegoriptide.com Ironman of the Year", and will be awarded a trophy at the Riptide's 2003 home opener. The qualifications will be contingent upon who had the best offensive and defensive season.
