Grand Rapids Rampage News Release
GRAND RAPIDS - With a brand new coaching staff in place and a roster filled with talented newcomers and experienced veterans, the Grand Rapids Rampage are ready to begin their 2008 training camp this February. Along with grueling two-a-days and film study, the team will also participate in a pair of scrimmages, including welcoming the Cleveland Gladiators to Van Andel Arena on Feb. 12.
Camp will begin on Feb. 3 when 37 players will descend on Grand Rapids for physicals and team meetings. Following the first week of practice, the Rampage will be joined by the Gladiators from Feb. 11-12. The two teams will scrimmage at Van Andel Arena on Feb. 12 from 5-7 p.m. EST, an event that will be open to the public, free of charge. Additional details will be released closer to the scrimmage date.
On Feb. 17, the Rampage will travel to Dallas to join the Desperados for two days of practices. Grand Rapids will close camp on Feb. 23, having trimmed its active roster to a maximum of 24 players. The Rampage kick off their 2008 season at home against the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats on March 10 following a Week 1 bye.
