After an impressive start to the season, the Yuma Scorpions look to continue their hot streak by facing the Orange County Flyers who are managed by MLB Hall of Famer Gary Carter. The Scorpions (4-0) are sitting atop the league standings ? game ahead of their competitors this week the Orange County Flyers (3-0). The Flyers bring with them Manager Gary Carter who was elected to the MLB Hall of Fame in 2003. Carter was one of the premier catchers in the game between 1974 and 1992. Carter won 3 Gold Glove Awards and 5 Silver Sluggers during his career with 4 teams: Montreal Expos, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Carter will forever be remembered by the New York Mets fans as the man who started the Mets 10th inning two out Game 6 rally in the World Series against the Boston Red Sox.
The teams will play three games here at Desert Sun Stadium on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, all starting at 7:05 pm. The teams will also play a special road game in El Centro, CA where the Scorpions will be playing as the El Centro Imperials. This game is on Thursday, May 29th at 7:05.
Tickets for all games can be purchased in person at the Scorpions offices located behind Desert Sun Stadium, or by phone at 257-4700. If you are unable to order tickets either of these ways, you may also purchase tickets at the ticket booth in front of the stadium entrance at game time. PARKING IS FREE.
