
Scorpions to hold award banquet tonight

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. â The New Mexico Scorpions are inviting all members of the media to attend their annual Awards Banquet tonight to take place at Sandia Casino. Several members of the Scorpions will be honored, staff members recognized, and will feature a word from Scorpions owner Doug Frank.
Eight awards will be given in total. The Navarro Oldsmobile Cadillac leading scorer will be presented to Chris Richards. The New Mexico Scorpions Crystal Springs Ironman award will go to Chris Richards, Tyler Baines and Jonathan St. Louis. All three of these guys have played in all 64 games. The PNM community service award will go to two recipients; Jonathan St. Louis and Travis Van Tighem. The Pepsi best defenseman is Arturs Kupaks, while the Scorpions man of the year is Tyler Baines. The Jeff File unsung hero award will be presented to Sergei Radchenko, and wrapping up the ceremony will be Chris Richards receiving the Alltel most valuable player award.
