New Mexico Scorpions News Release
[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]- The New Mexico Scorpions, proud member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), have added forwards Kevin Harvey and Konrad Reeder.
Harvey signed with New Mexico this summer, but returned home briefly due to an injury. The Hamilton, Ont. native spent last season with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League where he collected 159 penalty minutes in 59 games.
"Kevin will add another dimension in regards to toughness," said Scorpions Head Coach Ray Edwards. "He is a big kid who skates well and gives us additional depth up front.
Harvey's name should have a familiar ring to long time hockey fans. His older brother Todd spent last season with Stanley Cup Finalist, Edmonton Oilers.
Reeder becomes the newest Scorpion after starting the season with the Colorado Eagles. The St. Cloud State graduate appeared in two games with Colorado and scored a goal.
"Conrad will add speed and skill up front," said Edwards. "He has the ability to score and we hope he will immediately impact our team."
The Scorpions return to home ice this Wednesday and Friday. Friday night is WWE Night featuring Superstar Mick Foley. Fans at the Santa Ana Star Center can meet Foley and get autographs throughout the night. The puck drops at 7:35 PM.
