Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, Texas - The Laredo Bucks went 1-3-0 this past week. The Bucks lost 5-2 in Bossier-Shreveport on Thursday, and then fell 4-2 to Rio Grande Valley on Saturday night in their home opener at the LEC. Sunday Laredo rebounded with a 5-3 win in Austin, but the Bucks fell 5-3 to Corpus Christi on Halloween night at the LEC. Overall the Bucks are 2-3-0, with four points and tied for second in the Southeast Division. Laredo plays in Austin on Friday night then comes home on Saturday against Odessa. The first 2,000 fans get a stress puck courtesy of TAMIU. Face off is set for 7:30 p.m. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, which works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 48 % savings off walkup prices. 2005-06: REGULAR SEASON: The Bucks were 7-1-0 against Austin in the 2005-06 season. Laredo was 4-0-0 at home and 3-1-0 on the road.
All-time: Laredo is 26-13-1 against the Ice Bats all-time. The Bucks have out scored the Ice Bats 140-100 over that stretch. Laredo is 10-9-0 all-time in Austin,

2006-07: REGULAR SEASON: This is the first meeting of the season.
2005-06 REGULAR SEASON: Laredo went 4-1-1 against Odessa. The teams each played three home games in the series.
All-time: Laredo is 13-4-2 against Odessa, outscoring the Jackalopes 67-38. The Bucks are 8-1-1 at the LEC. The teams met in the first round of the 2003 CHL playoffs and the Bucks beat the Jackalopes three games to two. Laredo defeated Odessa four games to one in the 2006 Southern Conference Finals. Forward Hans Benson ended the series in double overtime in Game Five.
POWER PLAY IMPROVING
- After enduring an 0-14 stretch on the man advantage, the Bucks are 3 for their last 15 (20.0 %) on the power play over the last two games.
SEASON HIGHS
- Laredo set several season highs on Sunday in a 5-3 win at Austin. The Bucks scored a season high five goals, had a season high nine power play chances, and tied a season high with two power play goals.
SEASON HIGH PART TWO
- After failing to reach the 30 shot plateau in the first three games of the season, the Bucks have fired 30 or more shots in each of the last two games. Laredo had a season high 33 shots in a 5-3 loss to Corpus on Tuesday.
HAT TRICK
- Laredo forward Jeff Genovy had a hat trick in a 5-3 win at Austin on Sunday. It was the first of the season for the Bucks and the first time this year they've had someone score multiple goals in a game.
WELCOME BACK
- Laredo forward Ladislav Kouba returned to the lineup on Tuesday night. Kouba, who was sidelined by immigration problems, had a pair of goals in the Bucks 5-3 loss to Corpus Christi.
ROAD WINS
- Laredo is 18-8-5 in their last 31 regular season road games dating back to 05-06. The Bucks are 2-1-0 on the road in 06-07 after beating Austin 5-3 on Sunday.
BUCKS HOME OPENERS
- Laredo is 4-1 all-time in home openers after falling 4-2 to Rio Grande Valley on Saturday.
FIRST TIME
- Laredo has lost back-to-back home games in regulation time for the first time in franchise history.
BAD BOYS
- Laredo and Bossier-Shreveport had a full scale line brawl with less than two minutes to go in the Bucks 5-2 loss on Thursday. In all total 12 players were ejected and the teams combined for 188 penalty minutes.
WHAT'S THE DEAL
- Laredo is 0-6 all-time in Bossier-Shreveport in the regular season after a 5-2 loss on Thursday. The Bucks are 3-3 at the CentruyTel Center in President's Cup Finals games, but have never won in Bossier City in the regular season.

- 10/31/06 - TUESDAY - vs. CORPUS CHRISTI - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 5-3 to the Corpus Christi Rayz in front of 4,965 fans on Halloween night at the LEC. The Bucks got a pair of goals from forward Ladislav Kouba, but came up short. The Bucks are now 2-3-0 with four points and tied for second in the Southeast Division. Laredo is on the road Friday night in Austin. Eric Marvin allowed five goals on 29 shots and took the loss to fall to 1-1-0. Ron Vogel stopped 30 of 33 shots and improved to 2-1-0. The Bucks went 1-6 on the power play while the Rayz were also 1-6. Laredo out shot the Rayz 33-30. FINAL SCORE Corpus Christi 5, Laredo 3.

- 10/29/06 - SUNDAY - @ AUSTIN - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks got a hat trick from forward Jeff Genovy as they beat the Austin Ice Bats 5-3 on Sunday night at the Chaparral Ice Center in Austin. With the win the Bucks snapped a two game losing streak and evened their record at 2-2-0, good for four points and second place in the Southeast Division. Eric Marvin stopped 27 of 30 shots to get the win and improve to 1-0-0. Miguel Beaudry allowed four goals on 31 shots and fell to 1-1-1. FINAL SCORE Laredo 5, Austin 3.

- 10/28/06 - SATURDAY - vs. RIO GRANDE VALLEY - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 4-2 to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in front of 6,879 fans in their 2006-07 home opener. The pre-game featured the raising of the 2005-06 President's Cup Championship banner and the presentation of the 2005-06 championship rings to the players, but the Bucks were unable to capitalize on the emotion of the evening. It was the first ever home opening loss for Laredo who is now 1-2-0. Nathan Marsters allowed three goals on 33 shots and took the loss to fall to 1-2-0. Jeff Van Nynatten stopped 24 of 26 shots and got his first pro win to improve to 1-1-0. FINAL SCORE Rio Grande Valley 4, Laredo 2.

- 10/26/06 - THURSDAY - @ BOSSIER-SHREVEPORT - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks fell 5-2 to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Thursday night at the CenturyTel Center. The Mudbugs rallied from a 2-0 deficit with four power play goals for the win. With less than two minutes to play the teams engaged in a full scale line brawl as the rivalry boiled over. Laredo is now 1-1-0. Nathan Marsters allowed five goals on 34 shots in 58:09 of work and took the loss to fall to 1-1-0. Ken Carroll stopped 22 of 24 shots in 58:09 and got the win to improve to 1-0-0. FINAL SCORE Bossier-Shreveport 5, Laredo 2.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
- Single game tickets for the Bucks start at $14.95. Of the 32 home games, 25 will take place on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Game times will remain the same for the 2006-07 season. Weekday games begin at 7 p.m., while Friday and Saturday night games are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday games will be at 4 p.m.
