[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions continued to show their support for local charities with a check donation ceremony today. The Scorpions gave Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico, Haven House and S.A.F.E. House checks totaling $12,000.

The proceeds for these great charities were raised from the Scorpions "Salute to the Badges" annual jersey auction this past season. These three charities were hand picked by local law enforcement and fire fighters in the area.

"We appreciate the relationship we have formed with the Scorpions over the past season," said Kerrie Copelin, Marketing Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico. "We look forward to continuing to build the partnership between our two organizations.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico hosted the event with Haven House and S.A.F.E. in attendance to receive their $4,000 donations as well.

"Being selected by local law enforcement is such an honor," said Joy Tauber, Community Education and Outreach Coordinator of Haven House. "It is very special to have the Scorpions present us this check since we are neighbors. We look forward to continuing to make Rio Rancho a safe community."

"On behalf of S.A.F.E. House and the women and children that live in our home we appreciate the generosity of the Scorpions hockey team," said Crystal Hollon, Community Education Director of S.A.F.E. House.

Over the past year the Scorpions have donated over $100,000 in donations to local and national charities. The New Mexico Scorpions are committed to helping the local community in all ways possible.

SELECT A SEAT

The New Mexico Scorpions will host an open house "select-a-seat" event on Saturday, August 25th at the Santa Ana Star Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The entire community is invited to the Scorpions home for a chance to pick their seat for season ticket packages.

Current season ticket holders are also invited to come to this great event and enjoy entertainment throughout the day and have a chance at some exciting door prizes. Every current season ticket holder who refers a friend to sign up for season tickets during this event will receive a special gift.

The Scorpions are so confident fans will enjoy being season ticket holders; they guarantee money back if not satisfied. Any new or renewing season ticket holder will be offered a money back guarantee on the full price of the season tickets if they are not satisfied for any reason.

The Scorpions organization promises to ask no questions on why a fan wants their money back. Season ticket holders can ask for their money back after the first or second home game of the 2007-08 season. The offer expires at the beginning of the third home game.

Become a full season ticket holder for as low as $324. Every month, one lucky season ticket holder will win a free, game-worn autographed Scorpions' jersey. When purchasing season tickets, each person receives special VIP parking and entrance, discounts at local establishments and promises that no tickets will go unused.

Payment plans are available to fit anyone's budget. Call the Scorpions' office at (505) 881-PUCK (7825) to find out how you can be a part of all 32 regular season home games starting this October. You don't want to miss your chance to watch the Scorpions drive toward the Ray Miron President's Cup.
