(North Little Rock, AR) - One of the most exciting players on last year's Arkansas Twisters team is coming back. Jon Schoonover has been assigned to the team by the af2 league office.
The receiver is known by Twisters fans for making highlight style catches throughout the 2006 season. He was named Cutter Catch of the Game seven times and earned League Catch of the Week honors in week seven.
Schoonover finished the season with 59 catches for 812 yards and 18 touchdowns. He led the team with an average of 13.8 yards per catch and his 18 touchdown receptions were second most on the team.
"Schooney", as he's called by Twisters' fans, had his best game against Rio Grande Valley when he caught 6 passes for 100 yards and a team high tying four touchdowns. He also had a 42 yard reception that was the longest by a Twisters player all season.
The former Missouri Western State football standout help lead the Twisters back to the National Conference finals and one game from playing for the ArenaCup championship. The Twisters set a team record for total wins in a season with 12 and won 10 regular season games for just the second time in franchise history.
