Peterborough Petes News Release

Peterborough, ON- The Peterborough Petes have partnered with Scholars Education Centre to reward local students for their reading achievements.

From now until the end of the 2016-17 season, Scholars has made 200 Petes regular season tickets in the Sun Life Financial Family Zone available to teachers, which can be used as a reward for reading achievements.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be awarded at the teachers' discretion. Students in grades 1-8 in Peterborough and area elementary schools could be recognized for their reading improvement or ability, helping other students read, or being a leader in promoting literacy.

To participate in the program and receive ticket vouchers, teachers can call Scholars at (705) 742-4152, or send them an email. With parental permission, the Petes and Scholars may also recognize students in print and social media.

"I am really pleased to be partnering with the Peterborough Petes for the Read To Achieve Program," commented Scholars Director Brian Nashman. "I have learned from years in the education field that motivation is the key to student success. Classroom teachers are telling us that rewarding their readers with Petes tickets in a great incentive."

Catch the next Petes home game on Thursday, February 2 at 7:05pm, when the Petes will play the Erie Otters and Team Canada World Junior standouts Dylan Strome, Anthony Cirelli and Taylor Raddysh. Select tickets are still available by phoning (705) 743-3561, or by visiting the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in person or online . Also, be sure to download the Petes Mobile App for Android or iPhone for the latest news, contests, info, and the Petes Loyalty Rewards Program.
