Mobile BayBears News Release

HOOVER, Ala. (June 29) - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and Birmingham Barons at Regions Park, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the BayBears have made the following roster moves. LHP Daniel Schlereth has been placed on the 7-day disabled list due to a ribcage strain. Schlereth, a first-round pick of the D-backs in 2008, has a team-low 1.14 ERA in 18 appearances for the BayBears this season with 31 strikeouts in 23.2 innings. He also spent a couple weeks with the Arizona Diamondbacks where he fanned seven hitters in 4.2 frames. To replace Schlereth on the roster, IF Elijah Rumler has been promoted from Single-A Visalia where he was hitting .208 with a home run and 11 knocked in. Rumler netted a .226 average in 113 games for South Bend last season. Rumler will be available for tonight's game, and he'll wear number 5. The BayBears now have 24 active players with 1 on the disabled list.
