Spokane Chiefs News Release
The WHL schedule will put the Chiefs record to the test this week when Spokane hosts the Chilliwack Bruins on Wednesday and travel to Tri-City on Saturday. Saturday's game will be broadcast live in Spokane on Comcast channel 12.
Wednesday night's game will feature the TicketsWest Player Magnet Giveaway with the first 1,000 fans through the gates receiving a collector's edition player magnet.
Those two opponents account for three of Spokane's six losses this season, two to the Americans (one shootout and one overtime) and another to the Bruins in regulation. Both clubs sport healthy records and have played in the upper half of the Western Conference through the quarter mark of the season.
Chilliwack, Spokane's sixth of six straight home opponents, earned a 5-3 win on October 8th in their lone match-up of the season. Mark Santorelli and Oscar Moller, two of the top three scorers in the league, had two goals and four assists in the win. After that loss, Spokane has gone 13-1-0-1, including a nine game winning streak and a jump into first place in the U.S. Division.
Tri-City won both halves of a home-and-home series to open the home portion of the season for each club, October 5th in Kennewick 4-3 in OT and 2-1 in a shootout in the Arena the following night. Saturday's game will be the third of 12 match-ups this season between the two rivals and the start of six straight road games. Through 22 games this year Tri-City is off to a 17-5 start, three points behind Spokane with a game in hand.
Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
