Schaumburg "Flyers" Take a Stand Against Philly
May 28, 2010 - Northern League (NL)
Schaumburg Flyers News Release
Schaumburg, IL - To show their loyalty to the Chicago Blackhawks' bid for a Stanley Cup title, the Schaumburg Flyers are taking on a new identity - temporarily, that is. Throughout the Stanley Cup Finals, the Northern League team will be known as the Schaumburg "Pilots".
"All of Schaumburg supports the Blackhawks," said Executive Director of Operations Aaron Studebaker, "and if there's any cheering at Alexian Field in the next two weeks, it will be for the 'Pilots', not 'Flyers'."
The Schaumburg baseball team will be known as the "Pilots" until the Blackhawks' playoff run is over, which could be as late as Friday, June 11th.
The "Pilots" are in the midst of a nine-game home stand at Alexian Field, and you can also catch the Blackhawks action live at Alexian Field's Schaumburg Club restaurant.
For tickets call (847) 891-2255 or log on to www.flyersbaseball.com. Go Hawks!
