
Schafer Heads to Myrtle Beach

Rome, GA - Outfielder Jordan Schafer has been sent to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League. Schafer was having a fine season with Rome hitting .372 with five home runs and 20 RBI. Schafer lead the team in most offensive categories and led the South Atlantic League in hits, doubles, and extra base hits.
Outfielder Willie Cabrera joins the Rome Club from Myrtle Beach. Last season Cabrera had a solid season in Danville of the Appalachian League hitting .308 with seven home runs and 37 RBI. Cabrera was selected to the Appalachian League All-Star Team in 2006 and ranked third in the league with 72 hits.
Rome begins a four game set with Asheville tomorrow night at State Mutual Stadium. Upcoming promotions include:
