
Desmond Jennings Named Rays Minor League Player of the Month

Columbus, GA - Desmond Jennings was named the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization Minor League player of the month for April. During the month he posted a .320 batting average and .387 on-base percentage with two home runs, 12 stolen bases, and 18 runs in 24 games. All that with the bat while patrolling the spacious center field at Golden Park. He started 22 games in center and two as designated hitter.
Jennings put together a 17-game hitting streak from April 13 through April 30. He batted at a .355 clip during that period.
The Rays picked Jennings in the 10th round of the 2006 June Draft. He was born in and resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
