FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville Woodpeckers will be unveiling their official team charity on Wednesday, March 20th in the Fayetteville City Council Chambers at 10am. The press conference will include information about the charitable fund that has been established under the umbrella of the Class A Advanced Affiliate's parents, the Houston Astros, and their award-winning charity - the Astros Foundation. The Woodpeckers' commitment to create a charity fund and generate a contribution of this size in their inaugural season is unprecedented in Minor League Baseball.

The event is open to the public. Members of the media are invited to learn more about the program, beneficiaries, benefactors, and plans to cultivate a tangible impact on the Fayetteville Community. City leaders, such as Mayor Mitch Colvin and members of the Fayetteville City Council, will be in attendance.

At its core, the charitable program will facilitate the team's investment of time, energy, and resources in support of youth sports and military service members and their families. This program relies on its collaboration with local and national corporations, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, and the Astros Foundation.
