Spokane Shock News Release
The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Antwone Savage has signed an AFL contract to join the Chicago Rush.
Savage was one of seven players from the 2006 ArenaCup championship team to re-sign with the Shock for the 2007 Western Division title season.
In 2006, Savage led the Shock with 1,851 all-purpose yards with 21 touchdowns and 85 receptions. During the 2007 season, Savage smashed those numbers with 40 touchdowns, 2,260 all-purpose yards (1,482 receiving yards and 692 return yards) during the regular season. Savage was second in the league in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game, and sixth in the league in all-purpose yards per game, averaging 161.4 yards per game.
These outstanding numbers earned Savage a spot on the first team all-af2 for the first time in his career.
"I think this year Antwone proved to a lot of people that he can be an elite receiver on any team and I think he will be a great addition to an already terrific receiving core in Chicago," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said.
Savage is the fifth player from the 2007 team to sign an AFL contract.
