"Saturday Night Lights" Kicks off this Weekend, as Lights FC Returns to DTLV for the First of Three August Home Matches

LAS VEGAS - Following its longest road stretch of the 2018 season, Las Vegas Lights FC returns to the confines of Cashman Field this weekend for the first of three August home matches.

The team comes home with remaining momentum from three consecutive home victories before it hit the road, and will also entertain fans in August with a series of special, engaging promotions.

Saturday at 8 p.m., Lights FC (6-9-5, 23 points) hosts Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (3-6-11, 20 points) in a battle of two USL Western Conference clubs looking to gain valuable ground in an effort to crack the Top-8 and the playoff picture.

The match will also be the kickoff to the club's "Saturday Night Lights" schedule during a busy August, which features three home matches with unique themes each Saturday night at Cashman Field, plus a rooftop poolside watch part at Plaza Hotel & Casino next Saturday night for the team's road match at Saint Louis FC. Saturday's highlighted promotion is "Backpack Night," as the first 2,000 kids 12-and-under to enter Cashman Field will receive a Lights FC backpack, presented by Boston Dental Group.

The Zappos Tailgate Party, starting at 5:30 p.m. outside of Cashman Field, this weekend featuring appearances from Lights FC mascot "Cash the Soccer Rocker," plus several other Las Vegas sports mascots, including Chance (Vegas Golden Knights), Hey Reb (UNLV), Buckets (Las Vegas Aces) and Cosmo (Las Vegas 51s).

A picnic-style BBQ at the Zappos Tailgate Party, including pulled pork, chicken and much more.

"Beer Slushies" for sale on the concourses once gates open at 7 p.m.

A wide selection of new Lights FC merchandise, for sale both at the Zappos Tailgate and throughout Cashman Field.

ALSO THIS WEEK

Lights FC will have a full week of open training sessions leading up to Saturday's match, with the weekly training schedule, as always, updated and available at LightsFC.com/Training.

Special this week, though will be a pair of Open Training Soccer Parties, on Tuesday, August 1, and Wednesday, August 2, at Kellogg-Zaher Soccer Complex (7901 W. Washington Ave., Las Vegas, NV, 89128).

The Tuesday and Wednesday events will go from 7-10 p.m., featuring live music from DJ Ocho, "Cash the Soccer Rocker," raffle prizes and much more while the team trains. Following the conclusion of practice (approximately 9:30 p.m.), fans will get a chance to meet, greet and have interactive sessions with Lights FC players, along with a special message from Lights FC Technical Director Chelís and Head Coach Isidro Sánchez.

The Open Training Soccer Parties are free for all to attend, and both players and coaches will be available for interviews following the conclusion each night.
