
San Jose Sharks Recall Forwards Benn Ferriero, Frazer McLaren And Logan Couture From Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forwards Benn Ferriero, Frazer McLaren and Logan Couture from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Ferriero has played in 17 games with San Jose this season, posting two goals and two assists. He has also played in four games for Worcester posting two assists.
The five-foot ten, 185-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts was signed by San Jose as a free agent on Sept. 1, 2009.
McLaren has played in four games with San Jose this season, making his NHL debut on Oct. 3 at Anaheim. He picked up his first NHL point that night, assisting on Jason Demers first NHL goal. He collected his first NHL fighting major on Oct. 8 vs. Columbus.
In 13 games with Worcester, McLaren has posted five points (one goal, four assists) in addition to 52 penalty minutes.
The six-foot-four, 235 pound Winnipeg, Manitoba native was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Couture, 20, made his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Philadelphia. He picked up his first NHL point on Nov. 1 at Carolina, assisting on Brad Staubitz's game-winning goal and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 5 at Detroit. In seven games with San Jose, he has posted two points and two penalty minutes.
Playing in his first full season as a professional, Couture has posted 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 13 games for Worcester, placing him among the League Leaders for rookies.
The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario native was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
