San Jose Giants Pitcher Jason Forjet

SAN JOSE, CA- San Jose Giants right-handed pitcher Jason Forjet has been named California League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on September 7. In Forjet's start against Modesto on Tuesday, he allowed just three hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters in eight shutout frames. His strong performance led the Giants to a 2-0 win over the Nuts at Municipal Stadium.
Forjet is the third San Jose Giant to receive Pitcher of the Week honors in 2015. A 31st round selection by the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 draft, the right-hander has not allowed a run over his last three starts (20 innings) and he's lowered his ERA to 2.67. His scoreless innings streak is now at 22, the longest of the season by a San Jose pitcher.
Forjet becomes the fifth San Jose Giant to be named Player of the Week in 2015:

The San Jose Giants begin their march towards a 12th California League Championship on Wednesday, September 9 at Municipal Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 7:00 PM. After earning a Wild Card spot and clinching their eleventh playoff berth in 12 years, the Giants will host Game 1 of their best-of-three Mini-Series with the Stockton Ports. The two teams will then play at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton for Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3.
Seats for all 2015 San Jose Giants playoff games are available now. The first 1,500 fans through the gates at the San Jose Giants first two playoff games will receive clappers courtesy of TiVo.
