San Jose Giants Host Stand Together Series
San Jose, CA- The San Jose Giants will remember victims of the terrible tragedies that have struck our nation the past couple of months in a three game series at Municipal Stadium. The "Stand Together" series will begin Monday, June 13 as the organization pays tribute to the Orlando shooting victims with a pregame moment of silence as well as collecting funds throughout the game that will go directly to "We Stand with Pulse", a Planting Peace campaign dedicated to raising money for Orlando victims' families and funeral costs. Then, alongside the Inland Empire 66ers, #SBStrong Night at Municipal Stadium on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 is aimed at honoring the victims of last December's tragic events at the Inland Regional Center as well as celebrating the strength and vibrancy that San Bernardino and the entire Inland Empire region have shown throughout the difficult healing process.
Throughout the entire three game series against the 66ers, the organization will have a table located at the front entrance to Municipal Stadium collecting monetary donations for the "We Stand with Pulse" campaign. Each fan who donates will receive two free tickets to a future San Jose Giants game. On Tuesday, the Giants will be wearing special uniforms during the game with the SB Strong Arrowhead logo featured on the jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off and fans will have the opportunity to receive their autographed jersey right off the respective San Jose Giants back immediately following the game. Proceeds from the jersey auction will be donated to the Arrowhead United Way SB Relief Fund and to the San Bernardino Police Foundation.
"As a proud member of the California League, the tragic events that happened in San Bernardino last December hit incredibly close to home," said Juliana Paoli, Senior VP of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer. "As these tragedies continue to occur in our nation, the San Jose Giants are proud to support the efforts of Planting Peace, Arrowhead United Way and first responders all across the nation. In response to terror and hate, it's important for all of our communities to stand in solidarity with victims and their families to show that we as a community will always stand together."
San Jose's homestand begins on Monday, June 13 and will feature promotions such as #SBStrong Night on June 14, George Brett Night on Saturday, June 18 and Father's Day on Sunday, June 19. Throughout the season, San Jose Giants tickets can be purchased online at sjgiants.com, at the Municipal Stadium box office, or by calling 408.297.1435.
