Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Stockton Ports and Oakland Athletics have confirmed that pitcher Henderson Alvarez will make a Major League Baseball rehabilitation appearance in Stockton tonight, June 13th in game one of the double header beginning at 6:10pm.

Alvarez is expected to start the game after spending the majority of the 2015 season, in addition to the first few months of the 2016 season, on the disabled list due to an injured shoulder which required surgery last July. The right-handed pitcher previously pitched two games with Stockton while on the road this season, posting a 2.57 ERA in his seven innings.

Alvarez, a Venezuelan native, is most recognizably known for tossing a no-hitter while with the Florida Marlins in 2013 and representing the National League at the 2014 All-Star Game. Prior to being signed by the Athletics as a free agent in December of 2015, Alvarez accumulated a 3.80 career ERA with a 27-34 overall record.

The Ports will be back in town tonight as they kick off a four-game series against the Modesto Nuts with a double header, in which fans can purchase a ticket for both games for $3 as part of Three Buck Monday. In addition to $3 soda and $3 hot dogs, the Ports will also have $3 24 oz Coors Lights between the games for 30 minutes, and player-worn apparel will be on a 2-for-1 special in the Team Store.
