San Jose Giants Homestand Preview: North Division Series

San Jose Giants News Release


SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants will open the 2010 California League Playoffs on Saturday, September 11th at 6:00 PM with Game One of the best-of-five North Division Series. By winning the North Division First Half, the Giants earned a first-round bye and will face the winner of the Modesto - Stockton North Mini-Series. There will be several exciting promotions aimed at helping fans come out and show their support as the San Jose Giants look to defend their California League title.

Promotions and Special Events:

Rally Towel Giveaway: The Giants open the playoff schedule Saturday, September 11th and will be giving away special San Jose Giants Rally Towels to the first 500 fans in attendance on both Saturday and Sunday, September 12th! Come out early and help root the Giants to victory! Towels sponsored by Palo Alto Medical Foundation.

Clapper Giveaway: The first 2,000 fans to enter Municipal Stadium on Saturday, September 11th and Sunday, September 12th will receive clappers to help cheer on the San Jose Giants during the Division Series.

San Jose Giants Road Jersey Auction: Saturday and Sunday, the San Jose Giants will auction off their black and white road jerseys during each playoff game. The black and white jerseys were worn, primarily on the road, and were worn by current San Francisco Giants Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner, among others. The jerseys will be auctioned off in a Silent Auction style that will conclude at the end of the sixth inning during Sunday's game. Make sure you don't miss out on this excellent opportunity to own a piece of San Jose Giants history!

Merchant Night: Saturday, September 11th will be another Merchant Night. Be on the lookout at local businesses and stores for complimentary tickets to Saturday's playoff game.

Martinelli's Kids Run the Bases: Following the conclusion of every Saturday and Sunday San Jose Giants game, kids are invited down onto the field to run the bases, courtesy of Martinelli's Apple Juice.

OSH Merchant Night: The Merchant Night festivities continue Sunday, September 12th with the return of Orchard Supply Hardware Merchant Night. Fans can pick up free admission tickets at participating OSH stores one week prior to selected dates. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, while quantities last. Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free: Every Sunday home game is Alliance Credit Union Kids Eat Free Sunday. Fans can cut out the Kids Eat Free coupon from the Mercury News and redeem it at the San Jose Giants Box Office. For every youth ticket purchased fans will receive a free hot dog and soda. Fans must present the coupon at the time of purchase. The offer allows for only one ticket per coupon.

Game 5: If the series is extended, the Giants would host Game Five of the North Division Series on Wednesday, September 15th at 7:00 PM. Wednesday, if necessary, would be an OSH Merchant Night, so make sure to follow the Giants post-season and visit www.sjgiants.com for updates.

General Admission tickets are NOT assigned seating. They are on a first come first serve basis in the stadium grandstand and bleachers.

Throughout the season, single game tickets will be available at the Box Office and over the phone at (408) 297-1435 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tickets are also available online at www.sjgiants.com.

Don't miss the San Jose Giants in the Playoffs. Game One of the Northern Division Series is on Saturday, September 11th at 6:00 PM and Game Two is Sunday, September 12th at 5:00 PM. Tickets for the 2010 Northern Division Playoffs are on sale now at the Box Office and over the phone at (408) 297-1435 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tickets are also available online at www.sjgiants.com.

Radio Partner Offers:

The fan favorite Family Four Packs and Buy One Get One Free coupons for the San Jose Giants post season are available through each radio partner's website including 94.5 KBAY, 98.5 KFOX, 95.3 KRTY and Mix 106.5. Fans can visit www.kbay.com, www.kfox.com, www.krty.com or www.kezr.com and download the coupons and present them at the Municipal Stadium Box Office.

On the Airwaves:

Comcast Coverage: The San Jose Giants and Comcast have joined forces to bring fans 14 LIVE television broadcasts during the 2010 season. The games can be viewed live on Comcast Hometown Network Digital Channel 104 throughout most Northern California regions. Game One of the North Division Series will be broadcast LIVE on Comcast Hometown Network Channel 104. The remaining television schedule is still to be determined, based on the opponent, so make sure you check www.sjgiants.com often for an updated television schedule.

The LIVE games will be replayed several times on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104), and will also be available any time of the day or night via Comcast's popular ON DEMAND platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view California League baseball games ON DEMAND, Comcast Digital Cable customers can tune to Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the ON DEMAND button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, then click on "Local Sports."

Streaming Live: Every Giants game can be heard live on the San Jose Giants official website at www.sjgiants.com. Joe Ritzo will be behind the microphone for his seventh season as the voice of the Giants and fans can also find team information such as updated rosters, statistics, game notes, and news by visiting the website.
