
San Diego Wins Back to Back PASL Championships

Cincinnati (March 12, 2011) Led by four goals from League and Playoff MVP Kraig Chiles, the San Diego Sockers won their second straight North American Championship with a 10-6 victory over Guerreros de La Raza de Guadalajara at the Cincinnati Gardens Saturday night.
The game was tied at 2 after the first quarter, but Chiles scored just 10 seconds into the second quarter to give the Sockers the lead. San Diego led 5-4 at the half and held La Raza scoreless in the third period while adding one more goal by Chiles to make it 6-4 at the break.
In the fourth, it was all San Diego, building a 10-5 lead before La Raza scored in the final minute to make the final, 10-6.
Besides Chiles' four goals, the Sockers got two from Eric Wunderle and one each from Paul Wright, Diego Roviro, Scotty Martin, Dan Antoniuk and Nick Perera. La Raza had two goals each by Omar Santillan and Miguel Vaca and one each by Juan Carlos Delgadillo and Sergio Isacc Morales.
The top-ranked Sockers advanced to the championships with a 7-3 win over PPM Sidekicks del Estado de Mexico and La Raza advanced by defeating the host Cincinnati Kings, 11-7 in Friday night's semifinals.
