San Diego Wildcats News Release

San Diego, Ca - The San Diego Wildcats of the American Basketball Association (ABA) ventured to Qualcomm Stadium Wednesday, October 24,2007 to aid in the efforts to comfort those San Diegans who were displaced from their homes in wake of the recent California wildfires. The San Diego Wildcats would like to help their fellow San Diegans restore their admiration and pride for the city and county of San Diego.

There has been unbelievable support from volunteers and businesses for the people affected by the wildfires, and the Wildcats prided themselves on helping their fellow San Diegans during these hard times. The Wildcat players, dance team, and staff took two basketball hoops to Qualcomm Stadium and set up a basketball court where they helped the children relax and have fun during times of intense commotion and confusion amongst their family, friends, and neighbors. The Wildcat players gave out over 300 + autographed t-shirts to those displaced at Qualcomm. The Wildcats also helped carry food and drinks to designated areas, and helped improve the efficiency of the Qualcomm relief operations.

The San Diego Wildcats will continue in their efforts to rebuild and restore San Diego in the weeks, months, and years following the wildfires. For more information about the San Diego Wildcats please visit the Wildcats website at www.sandiegowildcats.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
