San Diego Sockers News Release
SAN DIEGO - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers (17-3) tuned-up for an upcoming week of important games by defeating Rio Grande Valley 13-3 before 3,227 at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night. Kraig Chiles notched two goals and five assists, while Matt Clare and Anthony Medina added three goals each. Chris Toth made eight saves for his ninth win in goal.
San Diego, who is seeking the second-best record in the MASL, will travel to Ontario on Thursday before hosting El Paso on Saturday in the season finale. Ontario (10-11), who is battling Tacoma (10-11) for the final Pacific Division postseason berth, needs to defeat San Diego and hope that Tacoma loses next Sunday against Kansas City. The Sockers want the best record possible to be able to host the Conference Championship and/or the MASL Championship Game.
Next Saturday, 7:05 p.m., at Valley View Casino Center, will be Fan Appreciation Night and also the annual All-Star Celebrity Halftime Game. Playoff tickets for Game Two of the Divisional Championship Series are also on sale now with prices at $20 and $10.
