San Antonio Scorpions News Release
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Friday, August 7, 2015) - The Scorpions travel to Atlanta at the exact midpoint of the 2015 season with 15 matches under their belt and 15 more to play in the regular season. San Antonio has had the Silverbacks' number recently as they have not lost to Atlanta since the 2013 Fall Season. Atlanta is coming off of back-to-back wins headed into Saturday's matchup with the Alamo City boys, however, and the six points have vaulted them all the way to second place in the Fall Season table.
The Scorpions, meanwhile, sit only six points out of a playoff position and are the third highest scoring team in the league this fall with 10 goals. This week the Scorpions brought in reinforcements with the additions of Portuguese goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes, Honduran fullback Milton Palacios, Jamaican midfielder Khari Stephenson, and rookie midfielder Johnny Lawson - a native of San Antonio.
This is the first leg of a two-game East Coast road trip (on the 15th they'll be in New York to play the Cosmos) before the Scorpions return home to Toyota Field on August 22 to take on the Jacksonville Armada.
The match will be available locally in San Antonio on KSAT 12.2 MeTV and online via ESPN3.
The 2015 San Antonio Scorpions season is presented by deeproot Funds. For information on Scorpions season tickets, call 210-495-8686 or visit SAScorpions.com.
