Head Coach Alen Marcina
(On the draw...)
"It was a battle of two very competitive teams, two top teams within the USL Championship. ... I feel, a lack of focus in a key moment, that we need to clean up, but I felt from start to finish we were the better team. Our pressing actions were fantastic. San Diego's a team that wants to move the ball side to side, we didn't allow that to happen. We created some big big opportunities, scored a couple goals, outshot the opponent. Yes, we try to fight for the three, but we'll take the point, learn, move on."
(On the team's reaction to the draw...)
"I think as a team we've been performing every single game. Our performance is there, the outcome hasn't always been favorable. We understand we've got to find a way to turn the draws into wins. We've reflected as a team and these individual, lack of focus in key moments we have to improve. We understand that as a collective. And once we do, we feel very confident because we have been performing from game to game. Hopefully when we return from the break we'll be able to turn some of these draws and dominating performances into three points."
(On Carter Manley's goal...)
"Zico [Bailey] enters the game, [Juan Carlos] Azocar was only available between 45 and 60 minutes and Zico came on and provided us a spark, great service, Carter got up. Great finish. Very proud of Carter, especially what he's been through. Over the course of preseason and in season. And unfortunately the cramps subbed him. Would've loved to keep him on the field and push a little bit more minutes, but proud of the finish. He also had a really really good game against one of the best wingbacks in the league, and we felt he did very very well."
Defender Carter Manley
(On the draw...)
"Really proud of the boys for fighting back, going down a goal early, in 10 minutes, and then really resilient to come back, tie the game up and go ahead. Just need to see the game out, but a lot of positives to take away. A lot of fight, great performance overall from the team, just really proud of us."
(On the team's mood...)
"If I had to use one word, I'd say hungry. Not disappointed, we're really proud of the way we performed, how we fought, but hungry for more, we want more. We have a really high standard for ourselves and we want to win every game. So just hungry, hungry for more points."
Defender Connor Maloney
(On the draw...)
"We had a lot of positives in tonight's game, it was a good opponent, we were 1-0 down, came back 2-1, we were resilient, and you know we take a lot of positives away from this game. And we build on it, for the rest of the season. We have a couple days off, game not until next Saturday, so we build on this and take it into next game. And learn from what we can do better."
(On the team's standard...)
"The standard is high. We want three points, every single game. Reality is it's not going to happen. But throughout the game, there's little moments that we build upon, and we take away from. Especially being down 1-0, coming back 2-1. We wanted the three points tonight, unfortunately that wasn't the case. We respect San Diego, because they're a great team. We've had a couple tough games here in a stretch here, and San Diego's a good opponent so to get the tie away - obviously we wanted the three points but the reality is it was a tie tonight and we take away the positives and move on."
