Salvation Army Weekend with the Oilers
Published on December 6, 2007 under Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Tulsa Oilers fans have always had warm hearts and have the chance to show that this weekend.
The Oilers and Salvation Army are teaming up this weekend to collect coats and food items that the Salvation Army will distribute.
Fans who donate to the cause will be entered into a number of drawings for prizes such as lunch with their favorite Oiler player and gift certificates from area restaurants and department stores. They can bring food items (can or boxed), blankets, coats, and other warm clothing items. Saturday night is noisemaker night so fans are courage to bring boxes of food that make noise, such as macaroni and cheese.
"This is what the holiday season is all about and we hope our fans will contribute again this year, as they have in the past," Oilers general manager Corey MacIntyre said.
The Oilers next home game is Friday night against the Austin Ice Bats. They host the Oklahoma City Blazers on Saturday. Both games at the Tulsa Convention Center begin at 7:35 p.m. For ticket information on all Oilers games, call 877-TULSACC (885-7222).
