Cincinnati Kings News Release
The Cincinnati Kings indoor soccer team remained undefeated at home this season with a 6-0 shutout win over the Ohio Vortex in Professional Arena Soccer League action Saturday night at the Cincinnati Gardens. The shutout is the first in PASL-Pro history.
The Kings are now 22-0 all-time at home.
The Kings (11-2) opened scoring late in the first with a goal by University of Cincinnati product Kwame Sarkodie. Fellow Bearcat Jeff Hughes scored early in the second to end the first half 2-0. A goal by Jeff Henderson in the third and a power play goal by Garrett Buck early in the fourth put the game away.
Kenney Bertz added a tap-in late in the game and Hughes closed the scoring with his second goal of the night.
The Vortex (2-8) had their best chances to score early in the second half, but a pair of free kicks were stopped by Kings goalkeeper Craig Salvati.
The victory keeps the Kings atop the Eastern Division. The Kings next home game is Friday, February 4 at the Cincinnati Gardens against Illinois.
