Salmon Kings to Face Grizzlies in Round Two of Kelly Cup Playoffs

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announces today that the team will play the Utah Grizzlies in Round Two of the 2011 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The best of-seven Western Conference Semi-Final series is a 2-3-2 format with the Salmon Kings hosting games 3, 4 and 5 of the series at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The first two and final two contests in the series will take place in West Valley City, UT at the Maverik Center.

Utah earned home ice advantage in the series by finishing in sixth place in the Western Conference, while the Salmon Kings finished the regular season in seventh place.

The Salmon Kings won the season series versus the Grizzlies with a 5-2-1-0 record that included a 4-0-1-0 mark at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre and a 1-2-0-0 in Utah.

This playoff series marks the second time that Victoria and Utah will meet in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. In 2008, Utah topped Victoria four games to one in a best-of-seven second round matchup.

Second round tickets for games 3, 4 and 5 will go on sale this Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are available online at www.selectyourtickets.com, by phone at 250-220-7777 and in person at the Select Your Tickets box-office window. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people.
