Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Shaun Landolt for the 2008-09 season.

The 6-1, 205lb winger is entering his fourth professional season after playing last season in Italy with Vipiteno. He notched 49 points (20g-29a) in 42 games while accumulating 48 minutes in penalties.

"Shaun is a good skater who can get up and down the ice," General Manager and Head coach Mark Morrison said. "He is a solid two player who will add character to our room."

The Cloverdale, B.C. native has previously spent time in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, the ECHL with the Pensacola Ice Pilots and the CHL with the Youngstown Steelhounds.

Landolt was an eighth round pick (#237 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The 23-year-old played five seasons in the WHL with both the Calgary Hitmen and the Moose Jaw Warriors. In 284 career junior games he scored 60 goals and 81 assists for 141 points while amassing 301 minutes in penalties.

Landolt is the 11th player the Salmon Kings have signed for the upcoming season. He joins fellow forwards Jacob Dietrich, Jordan Foote, Marc Fulton, Wes Goldie, Darryl Lloyd, Chris St. Jacques and Jeremy Schenderling as well as defenseman Matt Kelly, Mike Nesdill and Jeremy Swanson.
