Salmon Kings Sign Former Clipper

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Jordan Foote for the 2008-09 season.

The 6-3, 205lb winger is entering his first professional season after finishing his NCAA career with the Michigan Tech Huskies. During his four years there he amassed 19 points (8g-11a) and 133 minutes in penalties.

"Jordan is a good up-and-down winger," General Manager and Head coach Mark Morrison said. "He is an aggressive forward that adds a physical presence."

The Edmonton, AB native is not a stranger to Vancouver Island after playing one season with the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL. In 58 games with the Clippers he scored 23 goals and added 26 assists for 49 points and collected 73 penalty minutes. During the team's run in the playoffs he participated in 24 games garnering 10 points (3g-7a) with 37 minutes in penalties.

The 23-year-old was drafted by the New York Rangers in the sixth round (#169 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Foote is the 10th player the Salmon Kings have signed for the upcoming season. He joins fellow forwards Jacob Dietrich, Marc Fulton, Wes Goldie, Darryl Lloyd, Chris St. Jacques and Jeremy Schenderling as well as defenseman Matt Kelly, Mike Nesdill and Jeremy Swanson.
