September 9, 2009 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
Tri-City baseball fans were treated to their second consecutive 2-0 pitcher's duel Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium, but unfortunately for Dust Devils' fans the home team was on the losing end this time. With the win, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes evened up the Northwest League Championship Series at one win apiece, with Games Three through Five of the best-of-five series scheduled for Wednesday through Friday in Salem-Keizer.
Chris Gloor had a masterful outing on the mound for the Volcanoes, earning the win after giving up three hits (two of which were Kent Matthes doubles) in 6 1/3 innings pitched. He was relieved by the triumvirate of Kyle Vazquez, David Quinowski, and Jason Stoffel to close out the win.
Wes Musick was solid in 4 2/3 innings of work for the Dust Devils, giving up just one run on one hit, a Drew Biery home run in the fourth.
Tri-City will conclude its season on Thursday or Friday in Salem-Keizer. The Dust Devils would like to thank all the fans and sponsors who made the 2009 season the best ever at Gesa Stadium!
