Jason Vargas â Greensboro Grasshoppers
Jason Vargas earned BC® Powder South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week honors by going 2-0 this week with a 0.00 ERA. Vargas pitched 13.2 innings allowing only 7 hits while striking out 16 batters. On April 23rd, Jason struck out 11 batters in his 7.0 innings of work against the Asheville Tourists to get the 4-0 win. Vargas is 3-1 on the season with a 1.05 ERA in 25.2 innings and has struck out 27 batters which currently ranks 2nd in the South Atlantic League.

Joshua Hansen â Kannapolis Intimidators
Joshua Hansen earned BC® Powder South Atlantic League Batter of the Week honors collecting 8 hits including 2 doubles and 3 homeruns for the week. Hansen also scored 5 runs, knocked in 6 RBI and walked twice. Joshua currently leads the South Atlantic League in homeruns with 7, is tied for the league lead with 10 extra base hits and ranks 4th in slugging percentage at .683. Hansen had a homerun and double with 2 RBI to lead Kannapolis to a 5-4 win over Greensboro on April 20th in the 1st game of a doubleheader.
