Saints Provide Awkward Variety During June 12-14 Homestand

June 8, 2017 - American Association (AA)
St. Paul Saints News Release

ST. PAUL, MN - Sandwiched in between the longest roadtrip of the season, 13-games, and a six-game jaunt up to Winnipeg and Sioux Falls is a sliver of a homestand that lasts three games. Since it's so short we felt it was time to get Fancy. We know that's not like us, but we promise if you play hooky from work it will get very awkward, just how we like it. So spend three days with us and enjoy the variety.

The three game homestand welcomes in the Sioux City Explorers and it gets started on Monday, June 12 at 7:05 p.m. as we bring back one of the more entertaining promotions from a year ago, Variety Show Monday. There is no better person to kick-off our Variety Show Monday in 2017 than comedian and TV personality Fancy Ray. The self proclaimed "Best Looking Man in Comedy" will grace CHS Field with his loud, sometimes bizarre, comic persona. His stage personality is made up of the sexual prowess of Prince, the funky style of James Brown, and the animation and expression of Little Richard. Joining Fancy Ray will be the musical accompaniment of Frankie Lee. The singer-songwriter is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer. In 2013 he released Middle West EP to critical acclaim. In 2014 he was voted the Best Songwriter by City Pages.

CHS Field is about to get uncomfortable on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:05 p.m. with our first ever Awkward Tuesday. Each Tuesday during the season we will make you feel a little uneasy, maybe weird or flat out embarrassed as we bring back memories of those moments in your life you would soon forget. Maybe it was tripping and falling in front of a crowd, passing gas in class or something we can all relate to: puberty. This game is not for the faint of heart.

Do you really need a reason to skip out on work? If you can't think of something clever we'll write the note for you, but on Wednesday, June 14 at 1:05 p.m. the perfect excuse is a Saints game. One of just two weekday afternoon games this season the Saints want you to spend the afternoon in the sun having some fun. If you can't get out of work for the entire afternoon take a late lunch as we provide the food and entertainment while you leave all your work troubles behind. It's also a Walser Wednesday with the craziest tailgate party around.

Short, sweet and to the point. While these are the only home games in a span of 24 days we'll make sure you're fully entertained. If things get a little awkward have no fear because it could be worse, you could be at work. Allow us to step up our entertainment and get a little fancy because for three days we're pulling out all the stops.

Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value. Tickets begin at $5 for the Treasure Island berm seating (available only on day of game in person at the box office), $6 for bleacher seats, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for the drink rail and $18 for infield reserved and home plate reserved. Friday Home Games with Post-Game Fireworks are an additional $2 per ticket. Post-Game Fireworks Supershows (July 2 and August 31) are an additional $3 per ticket. Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket. Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.

On game days, the Box Office will open at 9 a.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday and will remain open until 15 minutes following each game. Tickets are always available at saintsbaseball.com.

The Saints open the 2017 season on Thursday, May 18 with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Gary SouthShore Railcats. For more information contact the Saints at 651-644-6659 or visit saintsbaseball.com.
