Saints Ink Hard Throwing Righty

ST. PAUL, MN (April 8, 2009) - You can tell it's close to the season when St. Paul Saints manager George Tsamis is signing players on a daily basis. A day after signing a power hitting outfielder he signed hard throwing pitcher Reed Dickert.

The 24-year-old righty Dickert spent the 2008 season pitching for the Milwaukee Brewers organization and spent most of the season with the West Virginia Power (Single-A, South Atlantic League) where he was 2-4 with a 2.50 ERA and three saves in 24 games (one start). In 57.2 innings pitched he walked 29 and struck out an impressive 57 while opponents hit a miniscule .198 against him. He pitched one game for the Brevard County Manatees in the Florida State League. In his career he has more strikeouts than innings pitched (209 strikeouts/175.2 innings pitched).

Dickert began his professional career in 2006 pitching for Fullerton of the Golden League. In 2007 he pitched for the Orange County Flyers of the Golden League and Rockford of the Frontier League.

The Saints roster is now at 17 players, nine position players and eight pitchers. The Saints can carry a maximum of 22 players.
