
Saints Clinch Playoff Spot; Still In Hunt For Division Title

San Angelo Saints News Release
San Angelo, TX â The San Angelo Saints of the Central Hockey League, under the expert tutelage of Head Coach Ray Edwards, are in the Ray Miron President Cup Playoffs for the 2nd year in a row. The Saints clinched the playoffs when they defeated the Fort Worth Brahmas, Saturday night at the San Angelo Coliseum, and when Laredo gave the Saints help with their defeat of the Austin Ice Bats on Saturday. Seeding for the first round will not be decided probably until this weekend, as the Saints and the Amarillo Gorillas are still fighting for the Southwest Division title.
The CHL Playoffs are three rounds, best of seven in each round, with the first round being set up as follows:
#1 seed vs. #4 seed
#2 seed vs. #3 seed
Number one and two are made up of the division winners with three and four being the next two teams with the most points.
The Saints are currently selling playoff strips, in the form of 12 games, until Friday. All unsold tickets will then be on sale to the general public, starting Monday morning at 8:30 AM at the Saints office at the Convention Center, Elite Physique and Blair's Western Wear or by calling 325-653-9577.
