NORTHEAST DIVISION CLINCHED â On Thursday night, the Mudbugs exploded for seven goals against the Odessa Jackalopes at the Ector County Coliseum, including three from rookie Scott Sheppard, in a 7-4 victory to clinch their second straight Northeast Division regular season title. The win also solidified a first-round playoff matchup against Wichita.
GORILLAS WIN 10-ROUND SHOOTOUT â On Friday night, the Amarillo Gorillas and Mudbugs battled in a tight-checking goaltenders duel which was claimed in the tenth round of a shootout by the Gorillas, 2-1 at the Amarillo Civic Center. The Mudbugs trailed 1-0 until just 2:15 remained in the third period when Scott Sheppard finally beat Degagne for his 25th goal of the season. After killing off penalties late in the third period and in the scoreless overtime, the Mudbugs settled into the lengthy shootout. But Phillipe Choiniere won the game for Amarillo with his seventh goal of the season in the tenth round.
BUGS BATTLE PAST TULSA â On Saturday night, the Mudbugs concluded their three-game three-city road trip with a 4-3 victory over the Tulsa Oilers at the Tulsa Convention Center. The Mudbugs claimed five of a possible six points in the road trip and improved their overall record to 35-16-5. With the Mudbugs trailing 3-2 midway through the third period, Shane Palahicky picked up a power play goal on a rebound from a Craig Soke shot and Travis Bell gave the Mudbugs the lead with a shot from inside the blue line on a delayed penalty call. Bossier-Shreveport killed off a five-minute major penalty in the final four minutes of regulation and Ken Carroll finished with 40 saves for the 4-3 win, their fourth of the season against Tulsa.

MUDBUGS IN THE COMMUNITY
Wednesday March 16th â Tony Roma's Tip-A-Bug Night â Mudbugs players will be serving dinner at 5:00 p.m. at Tony Roma's in Shreveport and all tips collected will benefit the American Diabetes Association.
Thursday March 17th â St. Marks Cathedral School â Mudbugs players will be reading to students at 1:00 p.m.
Thursday March 17th â Rusheon Middle School â Mudbugs players will be speaking to 6th graders at 2:00 p.m.
FINAL WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON! â On Tuesday, the Mudbugs will host the Oklahoma City Blazers at 7:05 p.m. at the CenturyTel Center. Then on Friday, the Amarillo Gorillas will make their first visit of the year to Bossier-Shreveport for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff on "I Love the 80's Night" as all fans are encouraged to wear their 80's outfits. Then on Saturday night, the Mudbugs will host the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Mudbugs autograph book courtesy of Wireless Unlimited. The 2004-2005 regular season will then conclude on Sunday with the Mudbugs visiting the Fort Worth Brahmas at 3:00 p.m. at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
