
Saints 2010 Season Begins At Home On May 13

ST. PAUL, MN (November 20, 2009) - The St. Paul Saints will open up the 2010 season at home - just the seventh time in the franchise's 18-year history as the Wichita Wingnuts will be at Midway Stadium for a three-game series beginning on May 13.
The Saints schedule, announced today, is highlighted by three fireworks shows during Memorial Weekend (Sunday, May 30), Independence Day (Sunday, July 4) and Fan Appreciation Night (Wednesday, August 25).
The Saints opening homestand is a six-game set as the defending American Association Champion Lincoln Satldogs visit for a three-game series from May 17-19.
Nearly half of the Saints 48 regular season home games fall during the weekend, with 23 total on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Saints have nine homestands with the longest being two seven-game sets from July 4-11 and August 9-15. The longest roadtrip is nine-games coming in June during the Minnesota State High School Baseball Tournament that takes place at Midway Stadium. The Saints will visit Pensacola (FL), Shreveport (LA) and Lincoln (NE) during that trip from June 1-10.
For the first time since 2007 the Pensacola Pelicans will come to Midway Stadium for a three game series from June 28-30. The only other South Division team to visit St. Paul is the Fort Worth Cats, July 20-22.
The Saints will become very familiar with divisional foe Sioux City as they play the Explorers 23 times. Of the three other North Division opponents, the Saints play Sioux Falls 20 times, Wichita 17 and the Saltdogs 15 times.
The Saints will play 7:05 p.m. home games Monday-Saturday (with exceptions on Wednesday, June 16 and Tuesday, July 20 which start at 1:05 p.m. and Wednesday, August 11 at 12:05 p.m.) and 1:05 p.m. home games on Sunday (with exceptions on Sunday, May 30 and Sunday, July 4 at 7:05 p.m.).
The 2010 American Association All-Star Game is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 27 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, home of the Wichita Wingnuts.
The season is divided into two halves, with the first half ending Sunday, July 4. The division playoffs are scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 31 with the Championship Series to begin Tuesday, September 7 at the home of the South Division Champions. The Championship Series may run as late as Sunday, September 12 barring any rain dates.
Saints season tickets and mini-plans are on-sale now. Group tickets will to go on sale Monday, December 7, 2009 at 9 a.m. and individual tickets will go on sale in March 2010.
