The Saginaw Spirit were defeated by their division rival, the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday Night by the score of 3-2. The Spirit resume action Friday night when the Kitchener Rangers come to The Dow Event Center for the first game of the Ross Medical Education Tenth Year Home Opening Weekend.
John McFarland got the Spirit out to a fast start with two first period goals, making the score 2-0 at the first intermission. In the second, Windsor's Kerby Rychel scored on the power play to get the Spits within a goal. Windsor would score quickly again to tie the game in the first minute of the third period off the stick of Brady Vail and would add the game winner when Kerby Rychel scored his second of the night, late in the third period.
