Sacramento, CA - WEDNESDAY, September 28, 2011 - The race to win the right to host the 2011 United Football League Championship Game is heating up as the regular season enters its third week.

The combination of fan support, attendance, social media integration and each team's winning record, which decided the venue for the 2010 finale, will influence where the 2011 United Football League Championship Game will be played.

"We would love to host the biggest game of the season here in Sacramento in November," said Mountain Lions Senior Vice President JOE WAGONER. "We're so proud of our fans and the city. The atmosphere for our games is fantastic and we'd love to put that on center stage for the championship."

Fans of the SACRAMENTO MOUNTAIN LIONS, whose 20,558 attendance in Week 1 was the first sellout in UFL opening weekend history, have another opportunity to cast their vote by coming out in force at Hornet Stadium this Saturday when the Mountain Lions take on the Omaha Nighthawks.

"This strategy was popular with our fans last season, so we will again allow them to help us determine where to play our showpiece event," said UFL Commissioner MICHAEL HUYGHUE, adding that a decision and announcement will be made in the coming weeks.

Fan Fest will begin in the parking lot at Hornet Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday with local bands WALKING SPANISH and THE NIBBLERS adding to the entertainment. Both will play from 2-3:30 p.m., with Walking Spanish taking the main stage. There will also be a Faith Concert during Fan Fest, featuring the bands UNDER HIS CONTROL, THE RESISTANCE and JORDAN NALLEY, and more.

The MOLO CAR SHOW, sponsored by Camaro Generations, will also be going on during Fan Fest. AUTISM SPEAKS will be the featured charity for Saturday's game. The halftime show will feature a football game between the FOOTHILL Jr. MUSTANGS' MIGHTY MITES and various mascots from around the state, highlighted by the Mountain Lions' MOJO.

The game will also be aired on COMCAST SPORTSNET CALIFORNIA with GRANT NAPEAR, JERRY GLANVILLE and MIKE LAMB in the booth. ADRIAN ROSS and SCOTT MARSH will announce the game on KHTK 1140.

Tickets are on sale now at www.sacmountainlions.com or by phone at (916-383-5466).
