2007 Sacramento Monarchs

National Exposure

The Monarchs are currently 21-31 (13-12 Home, 8-19 Road) all-time in the regular season for nationally televised games. On ESPN2 they are 7-11 (5-3 Home, 2-8 Road). Against New York on national television, the Monarchs are 2-3 (0-1 Home, 2-2 Road). Including tonight's game on ESPN2, the Monarchs will play in five nationally televised games during the 2007 season.

WNBA Tuesdays

Tonight's game is one of 16 games televised on "WNBA Tuesdays" on ESPN2 during the 2007 season. The Monarchs will also be a part of "WNBA Tuesdays" on July 24, versus the Los Angeles Sparks.

2006 vs. NEW YORK

July 20, 2006, vs. New York Liberty - W, 71-52 (ARCO Arena)

With the win, the Monarchs won their sixth straight game and improved to 9-0 versus the Eastern Conference this season.

Nicole Powell led the Monarchs with 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.

DeMya Walker came off the bench finishing with 12 points, including 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

Kristin Haynie tied a career-high with six rebounds.

Off the bench, Erin Thorn finished with a game and career-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. She also grabbed a career-high four rebounds.

Iciss Tillis tied a career-high with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.

Loree Moore had game-highs of seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

July 6, 2006, at New York Liberty - W, 79-58 (Madison Square Garden)

Erin Buescher led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting. She also added five rebounds and four assists.

Nicole Powell finished the game with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-4 from behind the arc.

DeMya Walker and Yolanda Griffith also finished in double figures with 14 and 12 points respectively. Griffith also added a game-high nine rebounds.

The Monarchs out rebounded the Liberty 36-23.

Shameka Christon and Sherill Baker led the Liberty with 11 points each.

Monarchs/Liberty Connections

Monarchs guard Kara Lawson ('03) and Liberty guard Loree Moore (‘05) both graduated from Tennessee. They were teammates for two seasons (2001-03).

Monarchs guard Kristin Haynie (‘05) and New York rookie Lindsay Bowen (‘07) both graduated from Michigan State.

Liberty Head Coach Pat Coyle and Monarchs guard Chelsea Newton both graduated from Rutgers University. During the off season, Newton fills the role of Director of Player Development for the University.

Monarchs forward Linda Frölich played for New York during the 2002 and 2003 WNBA seasons.
